  • She also won the season-ending annual WTA Tour Finals (formerly known as the WTA Tour Championships) in 2011, which made her only the 3rd player to win that title in their debut appearance, after Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova.
  • Her first Fed Cup win in 2011 was also the Czech Republic’s first Fed Cup triumph as an independent nation.
  • She achieved the feat of reaching the last 8 of every Grand Slam tournament after making it to the quarterfinals of the 2015 US Open.
  • As of December 2019, Petra has won the prestigious Fed Cup, as part of the Czech Republic’s national female team, 6 times (2011, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2018).
  • She was named as the 6th highest-paid female athlete and 5th among tennis players in the world by Forbes magazine in 2015. The same year, she partnered with Right To Play, an international non-profit organization that focuses on utilizing the power of sports to empower children facing adversity.
  • Petra won the WTA Elite Trophy in 2016 (the tournament’s second edition) at her maiden appearance in the event. This made her the first player ever to win both categories of WTA’s season-ending championships on debut, after her 2011 triumph (on debut) at the WTA Tour Finals.
  • On December 20, 2016, Petra was robbed and assaulted by a knife by a masked thug at her apartment in Prostějov, Czech Republic. She sustained multiple lacerations to the tendons and nerves on her left hand. She underwent surgery and by March 2017, had regained the use of her left hand. The criminal was identified and arrested as late as May 2018 and was sentenced to 8 years in prison, on February 6, 2019.
